Ron Bridges is a disabled veteran, farmer, biology professor, husband, father and grandfather. Ron served 12 years in the U.S. Army and separated in 1996 as a Chemical Officer with the rank of Captain. During his career, Ron received numerous awards and earned the Air Assault Badge and the Parachutist Badge. Ron’s farming experience began as a horticulture worker in Florida before joining the Army, then continued after he left the service and moved to Tennessee in 1999 and purchased a five-acre property. On this small farm, Ron and his wife Brenda finished raising their two teenage sons before they joined the military (Marines Corps and Army). When the sons returned as combat veterans, the Bridges family started the 30-acre Bee Ridges Farm in Clinton, TN, where they follow the motto: “healing the land as we heal ourselves”. Based on this experience the Bridges family became involved with the Farmer Veteran Coalition and Ron currently serves as the President of the Tennessee State Chapter.
