
Johnny’s Selected Seeds
In her role at Johnny’s, Megan works directly with small to mid-scale commercial vegetable growers to assist with crop variety selections and orders for seeds, tools, and supplies. She travels full-time throughout her territory, which covers Northern California, Southern Oregon, Nevada, and Utah. Over the past year, she has visited 100 farms in her territory, building relationships with growers and offering consultation and product recommendations. Megan frequently represents Johnny’s at conferences and events. She works closely with her colleagues at the Johnny’s Research Farm to provide reliable information and top-quality products to growers.
As a South Dakota native, Megan had her start in large-scale conventional ag. Through her career she has had formal training in Agriculture Technology, Whole Farm Planning, Permaculture Design, and Seed Business, Biodiversity, and Organic Crop Inspection. She served as Peace Corps volunteer in Kenya, working on Public Health, Agriculture, and Beekeeping.
Megan has a BS in Anthropology/Archaeology from the University of South Dakota, and a Master of Food Communication and Sustainability from the Slow Food University (UNISG) in Italy. She is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Southern Oregon University.
