Fury Bees & Pollination
Alejandro “Alex” Jauregui was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. When he was just three years old, Alex’s father moved his family to Williams, California.
Alex joined the military after graduating high school in 2003 because two of his close friends had joined. He initially joined as a wheeled vehicle mechanic, but chose to change his job to 11B (Infantry) after an improvised explosive device (IED) claimed the life of a fellow soldier during his second tour to Iraq in 2006. During Alex’s 11 years of service, he did four combat tours, two to Iraq and two to Afghanistan, for a total of 42 months in combat. During his fourth combat tour, Alex stepped on a dismounted IED in Zhari, Afghanistan, which resulted in the loss of both of his legs, two fingertips, most of his hearing, and shrapnel wounds to his forearm. Alex’s military awards include Afghanistan campaign medal 2nd award, a Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation medal with Valor device, six Army Commendation Medals, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with campaign star 3rd Award, NATO Medal, and more. Alex completed his military service at the rank of Army Staff Sergeant.
Being from a small agricultural town in Northern California, Alex understands the important role that honey bees play in producing healthy crops. This respect for and understanding of the agricultural community lead to the formation of Fury Bees and Pollination. Fury Bees began operations in March 2015 with just 100 hives. Alex, his brother Christian Jauregui, and brother-in-law Adan Rivera now have more than 700 commercial hives.
