Dr. Crystal Kyle is a OEF and OIF Army veteran and owns and operates her own small farm. Her research and expertise investigate Veterans that participate in Agricultural Education Programs that serve Military Veterans. She now serves as the Veteran Emphasis Manager for NIFA. In this role she focuses on increasing agricultural opportunities for veterans, provides support for veterans that work at NIFA, and assist in increasing the number of veterans that work for NIFA. She also manages competitive and non-competitive grant programs that include military and their families. Her programs include Enhancing Agricultural Opportunities for Military Veterans program (AgVets), Beginning Farmer and Rancher Program, AgrAbility. Military REACH, Military Family Learning Network, Virtual Lab School, Family Readiness, Yellow Ribbon, Substance Abuse, and Early Learning collaborations with Department of Defense, Small Business SBIR and AFRI A1601, Smith Lever Capacity. Prior to NIFA, Crystal worked for NC Extension, was the NC AgrAbility Director, and the NC Veteran in Agriculture Research Director.
