Owner

Army Veteran

Joy Hughes, an Oklahoma transplant, was born and raised in Southern California. She joined the US Army in 2001, right after graduating High School, and after working as a Logistics Specialist on an Army Airfield in Georgia, and completing a long deployment in Iraq, she finished her military term and enrolled in college; using the GI Bill, she graduated with a B.A. in English Language and Literature and started a family.

In 2020 at the beginning of a global pandemic, she bought 50 Meat Chickens, and 25 Egg Layers and began a journey of providing high-quality proteins to her community. With the aim to steward the 40 acres she has, and eliminate food deserts in her region, she has created a Poultry Farm that practices sustainability and promotes an environment of fresh air, sunshine, green pastures, and a place where the birds thrive in their natural environment.

She, along with her family, has raised and sold thousands of Meat Chickens and Eggs to local consumers and restaurants and they plan to increase their production and scale – and teach youth in their community the value of Agriculture.

Joy and her husband JD have been married for 14 years and have 6 Children who are employed as their Farmhands.
