Mark Bowen worked at a local sawmill in high school and grew up helping out at his cousin’s dairy farm. As soon as he returned from active duty, he was eager to begin his own forest products business and poultry farm. As the business expanded into a variety of pasture-based meats, Mark became involved in Vermont’s localvore movement.

As a current member of the Vermont Army National Guard and President of the Vermont Chapter of Farmer Veteran Coalition, Mark has seen tremendous interest and support in getting veterans involved in agriculture. Mark joined the national board of Farmer Veteran Coalition in 2019.
