Russell Guzzetta is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in the Gulf War in support of Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. After active duty, he attended the University of North Texas where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, with a Minor in Chemistry. In 2000, he found an interest in computer programming and has been working in that field for the last 20 years. In 2017, Russell and his wife Danielle, fueled by a desire deep in the roots of their family history, decided to become farmers themselves. They found a 2.5-acre property with a barn and a rundown ranch house. One month after moving in, they were tilling up old horse pasture to plant their first rows of sunflowers. Country Song Farm in Lithia, Florida was born.

The model of the farm is to plant, harvest, and sell cut flowers to generate income on a year-round, monthly basis, while never compromising on quality, freshness, and longevity of the flower, and always exceeding the customer’s expectations. They provide a selection of farm-fresh bouquets of mostly specialty sunflowers and zinnias, with some seasonal varieties. The farm also sells flowers in bulk for restaurants, events, and weddings.
Russell is a member of Home Grown by Heroes, and was also the 2019 Kubota, Southeast Division recipient of Kubota L Series compact tractor as part of “Geared to Give” program in partnership with the Farmer Veteran Coalition (FVC).
